Year 4 Tennis Competition at Witney Tennis Club On Thursday 11th May.

Eight Year 4 pupils went to compete in a Tennis tournament. Before we went, we talked about what the tennis competition would be like. We were excited and nervous at the same time. We put on our Kirtlington hoodies and, as we got ready to leave school, the rest of our class kindly wished us ‘good luck’.

Once we’d arrived at the venue, we had a practise before we played in the real games. We all won our first round of matches – by 6 or 7 points! We actually thought that we had a chance of coming first. There were seven matches in total and each match was five minutes long. The sun came out and it got really hot so when we weren’t playing we rested in the shade.

At the end of the tournament, when the points were added up, we came 6th place and West Witney won the competition.

Thank you to Mrs Wagstaff and Mrs Langrish who helped transport us and cheered us on.
