Our Christian Values

‘Aspire, Achieve, All Together’

“I can do all the things through him who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13

Our five school values: integrity, individuality, friendship, resilience and aspiration encompass many Christian values that help children to grow into confident and caring individuals. As a school, we have chosen to focus on a particular Christian value linked to a specific school value each term. Our school Christian values form the basis of our collective worships, our school behaviour policy and the ethos of our school through which we encourage all children to ‘Aspire and Achieve Altogether’.

Children learn that integrity is making the right choices and understanding their responsibilities. This includes honesty, truthfulness and a belief in justice and fairness.

“What does the Lord require of you? To do justice, love, mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”   Micah 6.9

Children learn to be self-aware, happy and confident individuals. They learn to celebrate uniqueness, to show tolerance and respect for themselves and others and humility.

“So in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We all have different gifts, according to the grace given to each us.”   Romans 12 4:8

Children learn to show respect and love to everyone in our school, local and global community. They learn that friendship includes tolerance, understanding, compassion, thoughtfulness and love.

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”     John 13: 34-35

Children learn to challenge themselves, persevere and learn from their mistakes in their work and daily lives.  They learn to have a positive attitude to obstacles and learn that with courage they can achieve great things.

“Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid, do not be discouraged for the Lord your God will be with you where ever you go.”   Deuteronomy 31: V6

Children learn to aim high, to do their best and be the best they possibly can be. They develop curiosity, risk taking and a love of learning in a creative environment. They learn to be thankful and develop a sense of hope for others as well as themselves.

In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”     1 Thessalonians 5:18
